About
Jenna Mertz joined the Natural Resources Institute as an editor in 2019. She collaborates with scientists, educators, and conservation professionals to craft compelling stories about environmental and agricultural issues in Wisconsin, and she is excited to call attention to Extension’s impact across the state.
Prior to joining the Division of Extension, Jenna worked domestically and internationally at multiple university writing centers as an administrator, consultant, and tutor. She has worked with engineers, environmental scientists, novelists, painters, and art teachers, and enjoys helping writers say what they mean. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and Environment from Iowa State University and a BA in English, Spanish, and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
In her free time, Jenna enjoys running, hiking, reading, and conversing with her cat, Ladybug. She unironically loves Wisconsin.
