About

Hannah Ramage grew up in Traverse City, MI on the shores of Lake Michigan with a love and appreciation for the outdoors. She received her Bachelors in Biology from DePauw University in 2011, along with the Albert E. Reynolds Outstanding Senior Award for her research potential. She put that potential to work in Talkeetna, AK working as an intern and then Aquatic Ecologist for the Aquatic Restoration and Research Institute until 2013. There, she was involved in a variety of projects including, investigating juvenile salmonid habitat, monitoring the long term ecological health of streams and documenting the impact of storm water pollutants on biota. From there, she worked as a technician with the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Reno, NV, helping restore populations of the federally threatened Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. She is currently working on her Masters of Science from the Integrated Biosciences Program at University of Minnesota Duluth. Her current research includes investigating environmental influence on larval and juvenile fish assemblages within the St. Louis River Estuary, with a focus on describing the relationship between aquatic vegetation metrics and fish species distribution. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys hiking, canoeing, photography and playing Ultimate Frisbee.
